About me and this blog
Hi, I’m Chris Vella. Based in the historic heart of Victoria, Gozo, Malta, I’m a senior software engineer and architect with over 15 years of experience living and breathing the .NET ecosystem. From architecting high-throughput, distributed systems with Microsoft Orleans and real-time data streaming to optimizing complex PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and MongoDB databases, I’ve spent my career building the heavy iron that powers modern applications. But unlike many backend purists, I’ve always believed that what happens behind the curtain only matters if it creates magic on the screen. I couple deep engineering with a sharp eye for modern web design and UX, ensuring that high-performance code always translates into a seamless, intuitive user journey.
For me, building software isn't just a profession—it's a mission to leave a lasting footprint. I started this blog because I’m incredibly passionate about a single, radical goal: reshaping how people work by cutting through digital friction. I build and write with the conviction that smart software and elegant workflows should make an end-user’s job at least 75% easier. Here, you’ll find a mix of deep-dive technical insights, architectural philosophy, and UX strategies, all aimed at one thing—drastic simplification.
